Farewell Sigrid Schlüter

On September 02, 2021, my wife lost her mother and my children lost their grandma.

Farewell Sigrid Schlüter

Today was the funeral, I hope I can give my family the support they need.

I am grateful that I was accepted as a son-in-law by this great woman and will remember gladly the beautiful moments we spent together.

ONGOING What I learned while reviewing every single Tweet of mine https://christian-hockenberger.com/activity/ongoing-what-i-learned-while-reviewing-every-single-tweet-of-mine/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

Twitter PESOS – my rules https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/twitter-pesos-my-rules/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

Reviewing my tweets and optionally syndicating them to my website is really hard. There are so many tweets, especially in the first years I wrote several times almost every day. When I transfer a post, I also do it in German and English. So I apply the following rules:

  • Tweets about waking up or going to bed will be ignored
  • Tweets about starting work, taking a lunch break, or getting off work will be ignored
  • Stories from work that have lost their relevance will be ignored
  • Tweets with broken links will be ignored
  • Posts referencing any events that are no longer relatable will also be ignored
  • Jokes that I don’t understand myself anymore will be ignored
  • Any tweets that I do not transfer to my website will be deleted on Twitter
Twitter.com PESOS https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/twitter-com-pesos/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

I’m manually reviewing each of my tweets right now (doing PESOS). In 2008, I tweeted almost every day that I was arriving at work, having lunch, getting off work, being tired, or all of them combined.

I hate myself 🙂

The life of a designer is a life of fight: fight against the ugliness.

Let me introduce myself: Christian Hockenberger, a fighter.

Quarantine End? https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/quarantine-end/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

22 weeks at home. Wife, kids, dog and me. Home office, homeschooling, and vacations. Tomorrow school starts again “normally” for now, my wife goes back to the office. Kindergarten starts the day after tomorrow. We’ll see how things settle in and how long the new normality will last.

This is the 11th week in quarantine for me. The camp fever has finally reached me. I am done!

You can design everything https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/you-can-design-everything/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

If you can design one thing, you can design everything.

This philosophy is so powerful. And so true!

I have taken the time at the weekend to eliminate some glitches on my website, especially in the mobile appearance. Furthermore, there is now finally a real homepage and dark mode support.

November 9th https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/november-9th/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

Today. One of the most beautiful days and at the same time one of the worst days in German history. Sometimes it is not easy to be German.

Blade Runner 2019 https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/blade-runner-2019/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

I think Blade Runner is the best movie ever.

The best sets, the best effects, the best music, and, depending on the cut, a really good and thrilling story.

The film is set in November 2019. That’s today. But somehow it looks a bit different when I look out of the window.

Progress II https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/progress-ii/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

Sheeesh, I have so many huge ideas for this site, but I still have lots of small details to work through. This is really annoying and frustrating. My post “Progress” is as relevant as ever. If only the days were longer.

The feeds are ready https://christian-hockenberger.com/note/the-feeds-are-ready/ Themeberger https://christian-hockenberger.com/wp-content/themes/Themeberger-Basic/images/default-cover.jpg

As I will not only have “normal articles” in the classical sense on my website but also a lot of interactions within the free internet, I have modified my feeds. This means that if you subscribe to my RSS or Atom feed, you won’t be bothered with all the interactions taken out of context, but only get the “big articles”. On notiz.blog, there is also a post on the topic that is worth reading.
